Week 3. Famous Last Words: 20% done...!

I had said I would do "famous last words" every week... but here we are in Week 3, and this is really the first weekend when I've felt like I had a chance to both relax and also play around with stuff for this class.

And it was so much fun! I am really kicking myself for not having done this all along. What a great collection of stories I would have if I had been writing stories for school all this time! Anyway, I have now written two stories, and I am really happy with both of them. In deciding between Eden and the Flower as stories to use to start my Portfolio, I opted for the Flower (the Eden one is kind of hard if you don't know the Samael story already). So, now I have a Portfolio. I can't decide which title really sounds best, so I will keep thinking about that: One Thing Leads to Another? or just: One Thing After Another?

It's definitely going to be a good thing to have a Google Site that I am using since it is not software I use for anything else right now. I learned some new things just playing around with it today for my first story.

I also really enjoyed redecorating this blog with new widgets (I even added a second sidebar for all the widgets, ha ha, I can't stop myself!), and I updated the weather widgets item to replace the (now defunct) Weather Underground widget instructions I used to have there. And I made a countdown widget. The semester is 20% over already. Incredible.

Adding a favicon was also fun! I had never even paid attention to that in the Blogger layout screen but I saw a student's blog with a favicon, and that made me figure out how to do that for myself too. Of course it's a fox. :-)

In life news, we both went to the dentist this week and survived (our hygienist is awesome). We had friends over for dinner last night and I made something new: feta-stuffed zucchini. It turned out really good! My husband did a pork tenderloin and grilled vegetables. (One of our friends is on one of those totally-no-carb diets, so we had to be creative in preparing dinner.)

And I got some really exciting news: I am going to be a guest on Bonni Stachowiak's podcast later this month!!! I feel so honored to be part of her project (we finally got to meet in person at InstructureCon this summer). So, for a picture, here's Bonni's podcast website:

So............ Week 3 is done. And tomorrow: Week 4 begins! Which means I will probably have Portfolio stories to read as people begin turning in their Week 4 Projects later in the week. Once I have stories to read every week like that, it means the semester is really taking shape. :-)
